Sophrology

What is Sophrology?

At its core, Sophrology is a therapeutic practice that combines elements of meditation, relaxation, mindfulness, and visualisation. Originating in the 1960s, it was developed by Professor Alfonso Caycedo, a neuropsychiatrist, with the aim of integrating Eastern philosophies and Western scientific understanding of the mind-body connection.

What Can You Expect?
During our Sophrology sessions, I will use a variety of relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, gentle movements, and visualisation techniques to guide you towards a state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness. By incorporating elements of mindfulness and meditation, we will explore your inner landscape, fostering self-awareness and promoting a sense of profound calm and balance.
You will learn the techniques that you will be able to re-use independently at home. Sophrology is solution based and the number of sessions varies between 6 and 12 depending on your short or long term goals.

Sophrology can benefit you if you struggle with stress, anxiety, sleep problems and a variety of other issues. Whether you seek to improve your overall well-being or are navigating through a specific life challenge, Sophrology can be tailored to address your unique needs and goals.
