Floatation Therapy
Floatation in About Balance Brighton is an incredible experience in which you shut down all outside noises and stimulation. Just you, floating in a pool of warm water and Epsom salts, naked as you came into this world…
Floatation therapy is good for so many things, but in a nutshell: it can help relieve stress and anxiety, help with recovery from injuries and illnesses and relief chronic pain. It’s fantastic for experiencing deep meditation and relaxation, and even reaching an altered state of consciousness as well as inducing creativity.
Appointments are 1.5 hours long, with 60 minutes in the floatation tank. We provide all necessary items such as towels, ear plugs, shampoo, body wash, conditioner and hair dryers.
You can book one off appointments using the calendar below or scroll down to view prices and options for memberships – making regular floatation super affordable!

Floating has so many benefits, it can help with conditions such as:
Many people use floatation to stimulate creative thinking and to solve problems, or for mental preparation for work, academic or sporting challenges. It has also been reported to reduce feelings of anger and agitation.
There are many medical conditions which have been shown to benefit from floatation therapy, such as arthritis, back pain, pre-menstrual tension, postnatal depression, asthma, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular conditions, osteoporosis and synovitis, to name a few.
You will feel the benefits for a few days after your float session….and then you’ll be keen for more
Wait, is this the same as Sensory Deprivation Tanks?
Bingo! Yes it is, there are some very cool things happening to your brain when you take the noise away, within 40 min your brain waves changes from Alpha to Beta or even Theta waves. Theta waves are the waves that happen in your brain just before you fall asleep and again before you wake up.
We have two options for floatation tanks here at About Balance: a more traditional floatation ‘pod’ as well as a larger floatation cabin.
The floatation cabin can be used solo or two people at the same time.
For first time floaters we reccomend using the cabin to get used to the experience, it is slightly bigger and has several lighting options to enjoy. The pod is ideal for those looking for sensory deprivation and that are comfortable being in a dark enclosed space.
Won't I get Bored??
Do get bored! What a wonderful and important thing to do! In fact, being bored out of your mind makes you more creative. In our modern life we spend so much time in-front of screens, checking calls, emails, texts, Facebook, Tinder, Youtube and watching sausage dog puppies, that we have forgotten the power of boredom. So much so, that it has become a bad word.
Let’s change that!
Floating by yourself in a warm pool allows your body to totally relax, and where the body goes, the mind follows. As every muscle in your body is 100% relieved from all tension, you can quickly go into a state of deep relaxation. Give yourself permission to do nothing. How glorious!
OR want to save cash AND float regularly?
Of course you do!
We offer floatation memberships from as little as £32.99 per month! See which is right for you:
